Belize (Unbelizeable)

Belize (Unbelizeable)

Every now and then you get to create something that is unique and in the moment. It couldn’t possibly have been created in any other place; because of the idea, or materials, and the necessity of the final product. This is one of those projects.

While traveling with friends who were getting married in Belize the morning of their event they realized there was no guest book. Immediately I had the idea for an island Guestbook and isn’t that always how it goes? As long as you have time to act upon it, somehow the design always works out.

    Materials:

  • Cover and back from my travel book
  • Pages from my sketchbook
  • Marker from my bag
  • Super Glue from the local produce market
  • Pocket Knife
  • Ruler
  • Palm leaves cut into 1 cm wide strips

I’ve never saddle stitched a book before. But take it from me if do… Do it on an isolated peninsula with a pocket knife, glue, and palm leaves. It takes the digital stuff you do on a daily basis and makes you perceive them as more valuable.
